What is a Runner?

A runner is an automated strategy built into VisionKeys. The minimal order size for a Runner is 0.02 as part of the strategy is closing a percentage of the order at a specific target.

Requirements:

  • Order must be a size that can be partially closed
  • A Take Profit #1 level
  • A Close Percentage when reaching TP1

Runner Rule:

  1. On order open VisionKeys will monitor the position for reaching the TP1 target (VisionKeys will draw an orange line on your Metatrader chart showing this level)
  2. When the TP1 target is hit, the position is partially closed based on your Close % setting
  3. Also when the TP1 target is hit, the position we be updated with a breakeven stop loss

You are not required to enter a Take Profit #2. If you prefer to let the Runner "run" until you see fit, you can do so by setting the Take Profit #2 setting to 0.

You are not required to enter a Stop Loss/Trailing Stop either, however it is highly recommended that you always utilize stops for the sake of your account.

Which Keys Trigger the Runner Order Type?

These keys trigger orders based on the Runner Order Type Settings:

  • RUNNER SELL
  • RUNNER BUY

How do I adjust Runner Order Type Settings?

Step 1: On the VisionKeys App click "Settings" in the bottom right of the main screen.

Step 2: On the settings window select "Trade" on the left panel to select the Trade Settings.

Step 3: Now select the account you wish to adjust the settings for in the "Account" drop-down.

Step 4: With the desired account selected select "Preset (Runner)" in the Order Type drop-down.

Runner SL

A new Runner order will open with a stop loss based on this setting.

Runner TP #1

A new Runner order will open and will aim to close a % of the order at this profit point based on your "Close % at TP1" setting.

Runner TP #2

A new Runner order will open with this setting as the final target for closing the entire position.

Runner Trailing Stop

A new Runner order will open with a trailing stop based on this setting.

NOTE: Using a Trailing Stop will override any values placed for the "Stop Loss" above. The Trailing Stop IS your Stop Loss.

Runner Close % at TP1

This setting instructs what percentage of the order should be taken once Take Profit #1 has been reached.

NOTE: This setting will ROUND when the exact percentage doesn't meet an acceptable value by Metatrader & your broker. Keep that in mind based on your position sizing + the percentage entered.
