Adjust Metatrader Options

These settings are required for VisionKeys to function correctly.

Step 1: On the Metatrader 5 menu select "Tools" and then "Options".

Step 2: On the options dialog select the "Expert Advisors" tab. You'll want to adjust the settings to appear exactly as follows:

Click "OK" when you're finished.

Add the VisionKeys Expert Advisor

IMPORTANT: It technically does not matter which chart you add VisionKeys. The behavior will be the same regardless. One tip is to add it to a chart that you DO NOT frequently use. The reason for this is when you do things like change the timeframe on a chart, Metatrader will auto-reload any attached Expert Advisors which causes a delay in reconnecting back to VisionKeys. If you apply the EA to a chart that you're not messing with, it allows you to bypass this side effect.

Step 1: If you do not already have a chart open, right-click on any symbol in the "Market Watchlist" and select "Chart Window". If you already have a chart open, skip to step 2.

Step 2: From the Navigator pane, expand "Expert Advisors" if needed, and find VisionKeys. Right-click on VisionKeys and select "Attach to chart".

Step 3: On the "Common" tab of the pop-up dialog make sure "Allow Algo Trading" is checked.

Step 4: On the "Dependencies" tab make sure "Allow DLL Imports" is checked. This is required for Metatrader 5 to communicate with the VisionKeys App.

Click OK, and you're all set! You'll see VisionKeys in the top right corner of your chart and if the VisionKeys App is at the "Running..." state you should now see the Home Screen on the Stream Deck.

NOTE: For most these steps will rarely need to be repeated. You can leave VisionKeys on a chart and it will remain there even when you restart Metatrader. The Metatrader side of VisionKeys should be "hands off" unless troubleshooting an issue.

TIP: VisionKeys can work across multiple accounts, but only the currently logged in account in Metatrader will actively sync. If you wish to swap accounts login to the desired account in Metatrader and re-apply the EA to a chart under that account.
